S3 Course Choice Booklet 2026
The S3 Course Choice Booklet contains important information about making choices in S3. The guide is for pupils and parents/carers as you begin planning next year’s learning. It explains each subject in clear detail and supports you to make confident, well‑informed choices. Taking a few minutes to read it together will make the whole process much easier. If you have any questions about courses, please speak with the relevant class teacher or your Year Head.
New S3 Column Structure
The New S3 Column Structure shows how pupils will make their choices from the key curricular areas within Curriculum for Excellence. It ensures that every young person continues to experience a broad and balanced curriculum while also having the flexibility to personalise their learning. Pupils and parents/carers are encouraged to look through the structure carefully to understand how subjects are organised and how these choices support progression into the Senior Phase.
