Career Ready at Holy Rood RC High School

Career Ready aims to prepare young people for the world of work. They believe that every young person should have the opportunity to progress to a positive post school destination and prosper in the world of work. Career Ready provides pupils with opportunities to unlock networks with the world of work.

S5 pupils are given the opportunity to sign up to the Career Ready Programme at the S5 Induction day.  The Programme runs for two years with successful pupils being matched with a mentor from the world of work for the 2 years. The pupils will attend 3 masterclasses per year, regular monthly mentor meetings and complete a 4 week paid internship during the summer at their mentors company.

At the end of the programme Career Ready host a graduation ceremony for all pupils in Scotland who have completed the programme. The pupil’s journey to becoming Career Ready doesn’t stop when they graduate, so neither does the support from Career Ready.  After graduating the Career Ready programme, students have the opportunity join our UK-wide alumni network of over 1,000 fellow alumni, employers, and volunteers.
