Here is this week’s update of recent events/news from Holy Rood, your Cluster Secondary School.V
- We were privileged to host a visit from Maree Todd, Minister for Childcare and Early Years on Internet Safety Day. A group of pupils and staff discussed the use of technology in school and in particular, the use of the internet.
- Over 450 pupils had the opportunity to attend our Careers Fair and engage with delegates from 43 organisations including Finance, IT, Legal Service, Public Service, Childcare, Construction, Hospitality, Engineering and the Creative Arts. Pupils were also able to seek advice on the opportunities available at Edinburgh College, Queen Margaret University, Napier University, Herriot Watt University and Edinburgh University. It was fantastic to see so many parents and carers in attendance for the evening session and receive such positive feedback from all involved.
- Congratulations to S5 pupil, Saskia McCallum, Future Chef Central Scotland Regional Finalist. We are very proud of Saskia’s great achievement and delighted to share the news that Saskia’s mentor has offered her a job in the prestigious Prestonfield House. Saskia has accepted!
- In sport, our S1 Football Team progressed to the 2nd round of Scottish Plate after beating Bathgate Academy 4-3.
We take a short break for the February week holiday and will return with an update on 21 Feb
