This week, we have been celebrating Languages Week Scotland and all pupils from S1 to S4 have been fully immersed in celebrating knowledge of other languages. S2 pupils heard from a range of people from Business, Education and Industry about the relevance of languages in the world of work in our annual Languages Work Event, which was very well received.
A reminder that Lateral Flow Testing Kits are offered to all pupils during school hours:
S5/6 Mondays S1, S2, S4 Tuesdays S3 Wednesdays
Please note that parental consent is no longer required. Kits are also available from the canteen towards the end of lunch time
It is vital that all pupils bring a face covering to school each day and wears it appropriately. Please remind your child of the importance of wearing his/her face covering so that it covers both the mouth and nose. If your child tests positive for covid, please contact the school with isolation dates.

S4/5 Course Choices
A pre-recorded presentation to help you support your child in making appropriate course choices which will lead to a positive destination will be emailed subsequently to S5/6 parents.

SQA Update – 1 February 2022 –https://tinyurl.com/2whb83us
It is still the clear intention for the 2022 exams to take place during April to June. The move to Scenario 2 means that SQA will publish revision support in early March to help learners with their revision during the final run up to the exams. The Scottish Government will only cancel the exams if public health advice restricts physical gatherings at the time the exams are due to take place.
A package of support services – including some help for learners with exam revision – will be available for learners who are taking National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher courses in 2022. The SQA will publish the revision support during week beginning 7 March. Revision support will be available for all courses that have an exam. This support will be tailored to reflect the different content and styles of questions that are assessed in each question paper, as well as any modifications to the question papers that are already in place, both of which will help the learner. Teacher will discuss this with pupils in classes.

Mental Health Sessions and Workshops Survey for Parent and Carers from CEC
If you are a parent or carer who cares for a child or young person with emotional wellbeing or mental health issues, we would be grateful if you could complete this survey to share your views.
This survey is being carried out by a working group of professionals who wish to develop and increase the availability of mental health information sessions and courses for parents and carers. Gaps in the support available for families in this area were highlighted during a large Family Support parent and services consultation exercise during COVID 19. Members of this group are from The City of Edinburgh Council Parent and Carer Support and Psychological Services Teams, Health in Mind, One Parent Families Scotland, The Junction, VOCAL and CAMHS. The views gathered in the survey will be used to inform future developments. Please follow the link below to complete the survey before the 17February 2022.
