As we start a new year, a reminder that in Holy Rood, we expect all pupils to wear full school uniform. This is an outward sign of the pride pupils have in our school, helps to maintain high standards and presents a very positive image of the school and our strong school ethos. Replacement ties cost £5 and can be purchased from our school reception. Below is a summary of our shared expectations for uniform:
- Plain black school (not fashion) skirt or trousers
- Black jumper/cardigan (no logos)
- White school shirt/blouse (i.e. with a collar)
- School tie
- Plain black footwear, preferably shoes (no white or other coloured markings and footwear should be appropriate for school)
- Dark outer jacket/coat (Blazers for S5/6)
Please note that jogging bottoms and jeans are NOT permitted.
Pupils who do not arrive in school uniform will be given items to borrow, which they can return at the end of the school day.
All parents and carers are respectfully requested not to pick up or drop off their child in the school car park. Parents are also asked to assist by not parking close to the school and you may be aware that there are double yellow lines/cycle lanes on Duddingston Road West. Please park away from the immediate entrance to the school gates to avoid overcrowding.
You are respectfully reminded that due to the current circumstances, access for parent and carers will be restricted to maintain the safety of everyone and will be by appointment/invitation only. If you wish to arrange a phone appointment with your child’s Year Head, or if you have a query, please contact the school.
