We are delighted to announce that after a lengthy process, including pupil and staff votes, presentations and interviews, we have appointed our School Captains for session 2021- 22!
Congratulations to our new School Captain, Zoe Divito and also to our Vice Captains, Kathleen McBride and Hanna Jins. A huge well done to the S6 Leadership Team, Joshua Jose, Romina Crolla and Shail Ahmad, who will work alongside our Captains.
All of the S6 pupils who reached the final presentation stage in the process (including Enda Gormley, Grace Munro, Jessica Jordan Packwood and Emily Hunter) did extremely well and should be very proud of this achievement. The presentations were of a very high standard and it was wonderful to see such passion when the pupils talked about the skills and qualities they think are necessary to fulfil the role of School Captain.
Our School Captains will be the face of the school at public events, the first of which is our Feast Day Mass with Father Jock on Wednesday 22 September. Our Captains and Leadership Team will have the opportunity to further develop their skills throughout the year and play a full and active part in our school community. We are very much looking forward to working with them throughout the year.
We are delighted that 526 parents completed the survey on Parents’ Meetings, Reporting and Information Evenings. Thank you so much for sharing your views with us, this will help inform our planning to best suit your needs. We are looking carefully at your returns with a view to sharing the outcomes with you in the coming weeks.

Senior School Update
This week we launched the UCAS process for senior pupils intending to apply for a place in university for 2022. Pupils attended a presentation on the application process and were tasked with researching their future studies, as well as looking into the lifestyle and opportunities at different university campuses as possible options for study. Pupils are now required to begin working on their personal statements which is a crucial aspect of the application.
Our S6 pupils are currently being appointed to various leadership roles throughout the school, these include our Pastoral Prefects who support our school community at events, Faculty Prefects who work with Curriculum Leaders and this year, our new S1 Buddy role, where S6 pupils will be working with our new S1 to help them prepare for their journey through Holy Rood and Peer Mentors who will offer some support for S1 pupils in classes.

Yesterday we faced a road safety issue at the entrance to our school caused by the combination of removal lorries blocking our school driveway and multiple parents who had driven into our school car park. This caused concern for the safety of pupils and school buses were significantly delayed. Please work with us to ensure the safety of all, park safely and avoid pick up and drop off from the school car park.

We wish all our families an enjoyable September weekend. School is closed to learners on Monday 20 September. We return on Tuesday 21 September
