With one week until the September weekend,
Your views are very important to us and we would be very grateful if you would take just a few minutes to complete a survey on Parents’ Meetings, Reporting and Information Evenings:- https://forms.office.com/r/xhbFC64deX
We hope as many families as possible are able to respond as this will help us best meet your needs. The survey will close on Friday 10 September. We hope to issue dates of Parents’ Meetings and Reporting schedule in the coming weeks in order to give families as much notice as possible.
Thank you to those parents who attended the Parent Council Meeting this week. We would welcome new S1 representatives. Parents please contact Admin@Holyrood.edin.sch.uk if you are interested in joining the Parent Council.
Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities
We are delighted to announce that after the September weekend, lunch time and after school clubs and activities will re-start. The programme is currently being finalised and we hope to issue this to pupils next week.
Young Scot Cards
All pupils aged 11 and over are eligible to apply for a Young Scot Card. Pupils who use their card to access school lunches are normally able to beat the queue at lunch time – this also helps to speed up the process of serving for our canteen staff. Normally these are issued at Primary School, but this year pupils are being asked to apply for their own card. Pupils have been guided through this process at Tutor Time. We ask you to encourage your child as it offers many benefits and discounts for young people.

Senior School Update
In order to support our senior pupils as they think about their future pathway, all S4, S5 and S6 pupils have access to Positive Destinations MS Team where regular updates are posted from our Developing the Young Workforce Coordinator and school staff. Updates include opportunities such as:
· Work Experience
· UCAS Personal statement support
· Open Day information
On Monday 13 September, S6 pupils will be given information on how to register and apply via UCAS.
We have become aware that not all pupils are wearing face coverings appropriately. Please remind your child of the importance of wearing his/her face covering so that it covers both the mouth and nose. Pupils must wear a face covering in classes and in all social areas, including corridors (unless exempt). We remind everyone of ‘FACTS’:
§ Face Coverings
§ Avoid Crowded Places
§ Clean Your Hands Regularly
§ Two Metre Distance
§ Self-Isolate /book a test if you have symptoms
We recommend that pupils participate in Lateral Flow Testing twice weekly. This is offered to all pupils during school hours: S5/6 Mondays S1, S2, S4 Tuesdays S3 Wednesdays
If your child is under the age of 16, you must complete a Consent Form and send into school with your child.
KIC Annual/Video- Photographic Forms
We are now able to offer some excursions (following the latest COVID-19 guidance). Your child has been given a KIC annual and video/photographic form. Please return this to school by Wednesday 15 September.
Parents and carers are reminded to park safely and avoid pick up and drop off from the school car park.
Please follow our school Twitter account for further updates @HolyRoodRCHigh
We wish all our families a safe and enjoyable weekend.
