Dear Parents /Carers

Following the Scottish Government announcement on Saturday 19 December, it is important for me to share information regarding our return to school. I have also included the arrangements for Covid-19 Track and Trace over the Christmas period.

Covid-19 Track and Trace Arrangements over Christmas and New Year
Over the holiday period if your child tests positive with covid-19, the Test and Protect Team will ask children at secondary school to identify who their close contacts were within an identified timescale. This will depend on the day when the child first displayed Covid-19 symptoms.

As this may result in your child being asked to look back to the days when your child was in school (from Thursday 17 December until Tuesday 22 December inclusive), all pupils have been asked to record the names of their close contacts in every class and during break and lunch time over this period. Pupils have their own booklet with this information and they have been asked to take this home with them. Please check that your child has this information to hand and that the booklet is kept in a safe place for easy access.

Scottish Government Announcement
The First Minister announced that the majority of pupils will not return to school immediately after the Christmas break. The holiday period has been extended up to and including 8 January. All pupils will be expected to engage in Blended Learning from Monday 11 – Friday 15 January 2021. This will be provided on Teams. We will email parents with a link to apply for a place for your child from Wednesday 6 January if both parents are key workers or you meet government criteria.

Blended Learning
If your child requires to borrow an IT device to access his/her learning on Teams, please contact Admin@Holyrood.edin.sch.uk stating your child’s name and year group. We ask that all parents and carers read over the attached Digital Learning and Teaching Responsible Use Protocol with your child.
