We are aware of two pupils in the school who have tested positive for COVID-19. I know this will be a worrying time for all parents and carers but I would like to reassure you that we have been working closely with NHS Lothian Health Protection Team and following all national guidance.
A number of people have now been contacted because they have been in close and sustained contact with the cases and this tracking process is now complete.
These contacts will need to self-isolate and appropriate guidance and advice has been given.
To respect and maintain patient confidentiality, no further details about the case will be released.
Please be assured that enhanced cleaning measures are already in place in line with national guidance and there is no evidence of transmission of the virus within the school itself. The school remains open.
If you have not been received a telephone call OR text from the school your child has not been identified as a close contact.
If you have any concerns, or if you need to book a COVID-19 test at any time because your child develops symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough and/or a loss or change in sense of smell or taste) please visit the NHS Inform website www.nhsinform.scot or for non-clinical advice call 0800 028 2816.
Remember to stay at home if anyone in the household has symptoms of COVID-19.

In the meantime please be assured that the health and wellbeing of our young people is our top priority and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.
I wish everyone a safe and peaceful Christmas.
